Fellows
Experts across different disciplines including neuroscience and computer science who are interested in working together to further our understanding of the brain.
ApplyI started Big Brain Lab because the brain is too big a problem for one field. The people who can expand and image tissue, the people who can trace a neuron through a petabyte, the people who know what a circuit does in a living animal and the people who have learned to read artificial neural networks rarely sit in the same room. Fellows are how we put them in one.
Here's how it works:
- 1Apply. The form below takes five minutes. Tell us what you work on and what you would want to work on here.
- 2We talk. A person reads every application and replies. If it is a fit, we set up a call.
- 3Work on a problem. Pick one of the problems on the Market page, or bring your own. You work with the other fellows on your own time, with the data, tools and compute we have built, and whatever we learn is published, pass or fail.
What a fellow gets is the other fellows, the data and tools we have built so far, and a say in what we work on next. What we ask is a few hours a month and your honest opinion, including when you think we are wrong. The problems are on the Market page.
